The Department of Clinical Sciences Mission:
The mission of the Department of Clinical Sciences is three-fold and encompasses the areas of education, scholarship and service. The Department of Clinical Sciences will:
- Engage students in cross-departmental and interprofessional educational experiences that ensure knowledge and confidence, instill a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered pharmaceutical care and enable them to excel in a dynamic healthcare environment as an essential member of the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with basic science, institutional, health-system and community partners to create, develop and conduct scholarship of discovery, integration, application and teaching that will improve patient outcomes and provide evidence to support the recognition of pharmacists as healthcare providers.
- Serve the community, institution and pharmacy profession through active engagement and leadership at the local, regional, national and international levels.
The Department of Clinical Sciences Vision:
The Department of Clinical Sciences will be an internationally recognized leader in the creation, implementation and assessment of innovative and collaborative education, practice, scholarship and service models that enable the delivery of an extraordinary pharmacy education and optimize outcomes for patients and community partners at the local, regional, national and international levels.
