Like a Palm Tree
The reason God says we would flourish like a palm tree is because God knew we would go through tough times.
A palm tree? Yes, a palm tree.
When a palm tree is bent over by the fierce winds during a hurricane, research shows that extreme stretching strengthens the root system and helps it grow. When the storm subsides and the palm tree straightens up, it is stronger than it ever was before.
That is what God does for us when we go through tough times. When you come out of the storm that was meant to defeat you, you straighten back up, and you realize you feel different.
God never brings you out the same. He makes the enemy pay for bringing times of darkness and trouble. You not only will be still standing, but you will also be standing stronger. Your roots are going to be stronger, and you’ll be stronger. You’ll be healthier, wiser, better off, and ready for new growth.
Just like a palm tree after a storm.
Prayer
Father, thank You for giving me the promise that because my roots are in You, I will flourish through the storms. Help me to sink my roots of faith deeper in You and trust in Your faithfulness. I declare that I am going to be standing stronger.
