Never Without Strength
We have often heard the familiar saying “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” In a moment of reflection over the course of the last several months, I believe it is imperative to adapt the same theory as it pertains to strength.
Strength also can be in the eye of the beholder.
Many people define strength in different ways. As believers, we have the understanding that ultimate source of our strength comes from the true and living God. In this season of Lent, it is vital that we as individuals define strength, understand what that looks like in your daily routine, and most importantly remember how to access that divine strength.
Some see strength as a look, a certain posture, or a persona. Others see strength as a character trait or an example of someone accomplishing a challenging task for the day or surviving day-to-day life happenings. We must understand what our strength should look like from day to day because we have to be conscious and careful of how we allow society to mold our mindset.
We all understand life can be complex. Despite what we may be feeling from day to day, life will never stop happening. Circumstances and situation arise on the horizon of our life that will often discourage and drain us of our mental, spiritual, emotional, or even physical strength.
If you are not strong, some would think, you are obviously weak. But could we take a different perspective? Could it be that if you feel you have no strength right now, does it mean that God is acting as your strength?
In this day and age, we need to remember that the holy scripture tells us that “His strength is made perfect in our weakness.” In essence, we are never without strength as long as we have faith in God!
Access to His grace and strength is a privilege we all have. Ask the Lord to examine your heart and allow the Heavenly Father to shine a light into your soul and mind. Always be willing to be vulnerable and transparent before the Lord. You will find the pressures of life will begin to lift when we release our stress, our worries, and our other life elements to Him.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for your grace and continuing to be the author and finisher of my faith. I am gaining the understanding that you are forever with me.
At my lowest moment, please reveal yourself and your active strength in my life. Continue to be a keeper and lifter of my soul for I know I am never without your strength.
