The Questions We Ask, The Answers We Seek
Are you questioning the current path or journey you are traveling today?
Has your journey led you to a crossroads with an unclear direction forward?
Or are you trying to answer the age-old question of “What do I want to be when I grow up?”
Our comfort today, when faced with these questions, is to believe and embrace God’s grace given to us.
Romans 12 urges each of us – brothers and sisters in Christ – to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, not by conforming to the world around us, but through transformation and renewal in our minds.
Imagine a caterpillar who eats the food around him, then transforms into a beautiful, colorful butterfly.
Wow!
If we stop, take a deep breath –– or two –– and give our all to God and listen, then we will experience this transformation for what He has already planned for us.
The Lenten season is a time of preparation for Easter, and it is also a time of reflection and self-examination. As we reflect upon our relationship with God and others in our daily lives, be reminded that we, individually, are one with many abilities and many talents.
We are many, but in Christ, we form one body, and our gifts belong to each other. Apostle Paul wrote in Romans that God has given each of us special gifts, and we are called to use them to lift others up, give thanks to the Lord, and be the best we can be.
In Romans 12, verses 7-8, it says: “…If [your gift] is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently, if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
Prayer
So, if you are questioning from where you have come, where you are today, and where the journey ahead will take you, my prayer for you this Lenten season is to simply allow God to guide you every step of the way.
Exemplify your natural gifts that He blessed you with in all your actions.
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind for we are one body in Christ.
May God provide his blessings on you today, and always.
Amen.
