Our Two Greatest Commandments
As we approach the Easter season, our hearts are overflowing with such love and many blessings. We reflect on the fact that God the Father sent His only son to die on the cross and paid a debt that we never could.
This is a love that is both unconditional and unexplainable.
As brothers and sisters in Christ, God has called us to love others the same way he has loved us.
In Mark 12, Jesus is explaining to His followers the two most important commandments. Number one, love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and strength. Number two, love your neighbor as yourself.
While we will never be able to love our neighbor in the same capacity that Christ loves us, we are called to love them in the same way that we love ourselves.
As you carry on with daily life, prepare your heart with a posture of love and gratitude. Gratitude for the sacrifice that Christ selflessly made on the cross for us, and the love He had for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
