Day 4 | Lenten Message

But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. Luke 632

Devotional

Our 21st Century Survival Guide

In this present day and time, it is hard to realize we are still people that need love to survive.

Loving thy neighbor may be hard to do if we do not understand love starts and ends with you.

To honor our mother and father cannot be very hard especially when we say that we all honor God.

Doing unto others is not about just being kind, because the mouth can be a weapon. We must keep this in mind.

Love is the principle that allows us all to live, and no one needs it more than one who does not have love to give.

It can be a gesture and only takes a while to show someone you love them with a simple smile.

So, when we live in God’s will and try our best to be true, we will never have to ask ourselves, “What Would Jesus Do”?

Prayer

Gracious heavenly and merciful father, we come to you first to say “Thank You” because it is only by your loving mercy and grace that we are still able to stand before you. We know that we do not always meet the mark.

However, we know you are such a forgiving God who continues to give us forgiveness time after time.

We ask that you take away our self-centeredness’ and self-sufficiency and let us remember that we only have what we have because you are who you are.

Also let us remember that no matter how bad we may think our situation is, you do not allow things to happen to us. You allow things to happen for us.

We ask that you continue to remove all the obstacles from our path that separate us from you so that upon entering your kingdom you will be able to call us by name and say: “Good and Faithful Servant well done.”

We pray this prayer in the name of our merciful Savior, Jesus Christ

Amen
