Devotional
Advent begins with meditating on hope. Hope. It’s a belief we all have, that the best is ahead of us — that God is not done speaking to us and God has a word of promise for tomorrow, the next day, and day after that.
The Prophet Isaiah writes:
Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
This is our hope that our light has come, that God comes to us as a baby in Bethlehem and grows in grace and wisdom that we too might be made new.
