Inaugural Farewell At Sea-2023
On June 9, 2023, High Point University’s Willed Body Program team joined Captain Richard Pagan and First Mate, Beverly Pegan of Stargazer Yacht Charters, LLC, to complete the final wishes of eight Silent Teachers with a Farewell At Sea service. Together they honored the selfless gifts and invaluable teaching experiences that occurred from 2018 to 2023. The inaugural service was held 3.5 miles off the coast of Wrightsville Beach, NC, at the Meares Harris artificial coral reef site. Family and friends watched the scattering from the Crystal Pier at the Oceanic. It was a beautiful day filled with many memories.
