With Our Deepest Gratitude

On Friday, December 10, 2021 High Point University’s students and Willed Body Program held its fifth Impact Beyond Life Service honoring

39 Silent Teachers

Teachers who silently instructed our students on the external and internal workings of the human body. Silent Teachers whose lives were all uniquely lived, but were united together in their selfless act of donation to our students higher education.

Once again, our students had the opportunity to meet and personally thank the family members of their Silent Teachers. It was a wonderful evening filled with tears, laughter, thoughtful expressions of gratitude and joyous music.

“To selflessly give others the chance to experience something so meaningful
To believe in those they have never meet enough to want to help them
To let them grow so they can help others better than they were helped
It takes a gifted soul to give others the chance to grow a better future for all
Words alone could never describe how thankful and blessed we are
But we’ll do our best to honor them and to hold true to beliefs in our ability to change the future
We thank the silent teachers and their strong families for letting us learn and grow
We will be that much better because of you all and forever appreciative”

With Our Deepest Gratitude

On Friday, December 6, 2019, High Point University’s students and Willed Body Program held its third Impact Beyond Life Service, honoring

37 Silent Teachers

Each year students work together to build and create a unique service that pays tribute to their donors for their selfless gifts. This year our students had the opportunity to meet and personally thank the family members of their Silent Teachers. It was a beautiful day filled with an abundance of gratitude, laughter, and tears. It was also a day of reflection on lives well lived, lessons learned, and will be forever remembered by all who attended.

“When I touched your hands, I touched hands that had felt the chill of 94 winters, fingers that has stretched in the sunlight of as many springs.”

With Our Deepest Gratitude

On January 18, 2019, High Point University’s students and Willed Body program held the second Impact Beyond Life Service honoring

22 Silent Teachers

Teachers who became our students first patients, and who have silently guided our students on path to becoming health care providers. Our service was rescheduled from 2018 to 2019 due to weather, but our students made sure they found another day and time to honor those that taught them. Each student, faculty, or staff member that you will hear from purposely and respectfully selected the words they spoke, the music they played, the poem they read, or the art they created for the cover of our program.

With Our Deepest Gratitude

On December 1, 2017 High Point University’s students and Willed Body Program held its first Impact Beyond Life Service honoring

19 Silent Teachers

Teachers who forever changed the lives of our students by gifting them the ultimate gift of anatomical learning.  During the service, our staff, faculty and students were able to express their gratitude for the generous gifts their Silent Teachers gave them.

“The soul of the truly benevolent man does not seem to reside much in his own body. Its life, to a great extent, is a mere reflex of the lives of others. It migrates into their bodies, and identifying its existence with their existence, finds its own happiness in increasing and prolonging their pleasures, in extinguishing or solacing their pains.” Horace Mann.
