Every student, faculty, staff, and member of the health sciences community understands the importance of these charitable gifts and the value they bring to advancing health sciences. For these reasons, High Point University’s Willed Body Program developed unique ways to honor EVERY donor.
ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE
To show our reverence and to thank our generous donors, their family, and friends, the Willed Body Program invites all to join us at our annual memorial service held each year at the beginning of December. During the service, students, faculty, staff, and the community will have an opportunity to express what each gift means to them. We hope that comfort and peace will touch the hearts of all who attend.
TREE OF LIFE
Located on the wall as you enter the anatomy laboratory is an 8’3” tall Tree of Life. Each donor can have their name, or “Silent Teacher,” inscribed on a leaf that adorns the tree.
The construction of the Memorial Garden will take place at a later date. Once complete, family, friends, and donors can sit and reflect in an area of quiet beauty and spiritual reassurance.
Upon death, all honorably discharged veterans are entitled to a United States flag and a gold-embossed Presidential Memorial Certificate bearing the official signature of the current President. These benefits are provided to honor the memory of a veteran’s military service and to serve as a keepsake for their loved ones. The Willed Body Program is honored to assist families in applying for these unique benefits.
