Hired in 2017 for her expertise in funeral service and preservation techniques, her innovative and visionary thinking has led the program to immense success. Since then, the Willed Body Program has hosted numerous Impact Beyond Life Services honoring the Silent Teachers that have graciously given the gift of higher learning and assisted hundreds of donors and their families through the donation process. In addition, Ms. Mittelstadt oversees all administrative operations for graduate anatomy laboratories, clinical experiences, and community partnerships utilizing Silent Teachers for advanced anatomical learning.   Before joining the Congdon School of Health Sciences, she worked as a licensed funeral service professional in High Point, NC, and Pennsylvania. With over 15 years of funeral service experience, Ms. Mittelstadt brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the complex decisions individuals make concerning their end-of-life choices. In addition, her deep compassion and sincere respect for donors and their families have added to the success of the Willed Body Program.   Ms. Mittelstadt is currently working toward a Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to further her knowledge of the healthcare industry and develop unique ways the Willed Body Program can continue to be a resource to the community and leader in its field. Ms. Mittelstadt completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and her Mortuary Science degree from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Sciences in Pittsburgh, PA.   Ms. Mittelstadt has been a member of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists since 2017 and is the current Chair of the Anatomical Services Committee. Bryant, CFSP, CCO, joined the High Point University team in 2021 as the Human Cadaveric Laboratories Manager and Embalmer. Hired for his expertise in funeral services and advanced anatomical preservation techniques, Mr. Bryant handles the daily operations of the human cadaveric laboratories and the onsite care center and assists students with their studies.   Mr. Bryant received his degree in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and received the prestigious A.J. Russler Memorial Award for excellence in the clinical setting. He has also amazed many certifications over the years. Mr. Bryant has been a licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Certified Crematory Operator (CCO) for the last 18 years in North Carolina and South Carolina and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP). He is well versed and certified in anatomical embalming and preparations, and forensic sciences and has many years of funeral home management experience.   Before following his lifelong passion in the death care field, Mr. Bryant had a lengthy career in Public Safety (Police, Fire & EMS). He is also proud to have been a 14+ year member of The Unites States Department of Homeland Security, Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team-Weapon of Mass Destruction Special Operations Team (DHS DMORT-WMD).   Mr. Bryant is an active member of The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP), Cremation Association of North America (CANA), The American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), International Plastination Society (ISP), and the Knights of Columbus and the Order of St. Benedict (OSB).
