Universidad San Francisco de Quito
Quito, Ecuador
USFQ is one of the most distinguished private universities in Ecuador. A liberal arts university that is based on the American University system, the university consists of an intimate campus with centrally-located education buildings. The academic programs range from health sciences and tropical ecology to film and fine arts, thus offering a wide variety of classes. It also boasts a successful Spanish as a Second Language program for students interested in learning and practicing the language.

Quito is a majestic city nestled between the high peaks of the Andes Mountains. Although it is a mere fourteen miles from the equator, Quito’s altitude of approximately nine thousand feet provides a comfortable climate year-round. The city is famous for its colonial architecture and artwork that is displayed proudly in a host of museums and churches that line the historic downtown area. The northern section of town is a showcase of modern skyscrapers mixed with contemporary housing. This area is also completely stocked with shopping centers, discotheques, and restaurants galore.

Your HPU grade point average will not be impacted positively or negatively by your study abroad courses.
