You will be studying at one of the oldest universities in the state of Bavaria, Germany. You will live in a youthful city — one-in-six people living in Bamberg are students. Upon your arrival in Bamberg, you’ll be paired with a buddy who will help you adjust to life in Germany as a student at the University of Bamberg. Although the city is close to the center of Germany, it has a distinctly Italian feel complete with a system of rivers and gondoliers. There is a wide range of architecture throughout the city that you will not only see from the outside but experience during lectures and seminars because the university facilities are spread throughout the town rather than being clustered in one location. The Bamberg Symphony Orchestra is internationally known and the Natural History Museum is not to be missed. After exploring Bamberg, there are endless possibilities for day trips outside the city, or even weekend excursions to Prague, Berlin, Salzburg, or France.
The University of Bamberg offers a range of courses taught in English in Computer Science, Economics and Business Administration, Political Science, Psychology, as well as German Language. To view the full list of courses, visit the Course Catalog.

For High Point University to recognize the credits you complete abroad, you must earn at least a grade equivalent to a C in the U.S. HPU will not accept credit for courses with grades of C– or below. Grades for all courses earned abroad are recorded on the international transcript. Credits are received by HPU as transfer credits, which means the credit is received but the grade is not. Your HPU grade point average will not be impacted positively or negatively by your study abroad courses.
