A Message from Dr. Daniel Erb, Provost

Dear Parents,

A new academic year is just getting started at HPU, and we are excited to have our students back on campus. Looking back on this past summer, I am proud to report that HPU students demonstrated exceptional dedication and initiation in pursuing meaningful experiences that enhanced their personal and professional development. Concurrently, our faculty and staff diligently prepared our campus facilities and academic programs to ensure an outstanding educational experience for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Hundreds of our students successfully completed challenging and enriching internships, effectively bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and practical, real-world application. I would like to highlight a few exemplary internships:

  • Mark Epstein, a student from California, secured a prestigious internship with Morgan Stanley in Georgia, where he served as a Corporate Service Analyst. This comprehensive program provided him with invaluable hands-on experience in facilities management, vendor relations, real estate strategy, and business operations—all critical components supporting Bloomberg’s infrastructure and workplace efficiency initiatives.
  • Harper Campbell from Florida dedicated her summer to public service as a Legislative Intern in the House of Representatives, working directly with Congressman Vern Buchanan (FL-16) in Washington, D.C. This experience provided her with firsthand exposure to the legislative process and governmental operations.
  • Catherine Hourihan excelled as a Sales Intern with ABC 25 News in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where she provided essential support for B2B sales initiatives and advertising campaigns during high-profile events, including the NBA Finals and Boston Marathon. Catherine will continue to develop her expertise in media sales and client development as she advances within Hearst Television.
  • Alexis Taylor contributed significantly to USA Baseball as an Athletic Communications Intern in Cary, North Carolina. In this role, she supported national teams and events by serving as a media liaison, overseeing press box operations, and coordinating social media content creation in collaboration with their creative team.

In addition to these internship achievements, in May HPU students traveled to more than 10 countries and participated in transformative international experiences through 18 diverse and interactive academic programs. We continue to expand these opportunities annually, adding new destinations and culturally immersive experiences.

Furthermore, a substantial number of our students remained on campus this summer to collaborate with faculty members on undergraduate research and creative projects spanning traditional scientific disciplines as well as innovative fields such as game design and virtual reality. These research partnerships exemplify our commitment to fostering scholarly inquiry and creative expression across all academic disciplines.

As we embark upon this new academic year, we are energized by the possibilities ahead and delighted to welcome our students back to campus. The experiences and growth they have demonstrated this summer position them exceptionally well for continued success in their academic pursuits.

We remain deeply grateful for your continued support and partnership in your student’s educational journey. Together, we will ensure that this academic year provides the foundation for their future achievements and contributions to our global community.
