What is a First Year Navigator?
First Year Navigators are student leaders selected by the Office of Student Success to provide transitional support to first-year students and assist them in building a greater sense of belonging to High Point University and its support network.
What is the purpose of a First Year Navigator?
- Engage and provide transitional support to assigned first-year students.
- Serve as a source of information for incoming and first-year students during Orientation Weekends and Open House events.
- Coordinate student participation to events hosted by the Office of Student Success and High Point University.
- Instruct first-year students on navigating various academic systems (Blackboard, Starfish, Student Planning, My Stuff, etc.) and assist them in developing their self-sufficiency in utilizing these tools.
