Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy Early Assurance Admission
For high school students entering HPU’s undergraduate Pre-Pharmacy Track and intending to enroll in HPU’s Doctor of Pharmacy program, the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy offers an opportunity for an Early Assurance Admission pathway.
Applicants who are not enrolled in High Point University’s undergraduate pre-pharmacy track but are actively completing the required PharmD prerequisite courses are welcome to apply to the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy through the standard admissions process using the PharmCAS application. However, these applicants are not eligible for the Early Assurance Admission Pathway, which is reserved exclusively for students in HPU’s undergraduate pre-pharmacy track.
Regardless of whether an applicant applies through the Early Assurance Admission Pathway or the standard admissions process, all applicants must complete the same required prerequisite coursework and submit a PharmCAS application for admission to the PharmD program.

Eligibility requirements as undergraduate students at HPU for the Early Assurance Admission pathway include the following:
- Enrollment in the HPU Pre-Pharmacy major as a high school senior.
- Successful completion of the required credit hour course plan during two years of undergraduate studies with guidance from the HPU Pre-Pharmacy major Success Coach and FWSOP Advisor. If college coursework from high school is eligible, then course substitutions may be used with approval.
- Maintenance of a cumulative 3.0 GPA at HPU with no grade below a “C-“.
- Membership in the HPU Pre-Pharmacy Club. Students are strongly encouraged to hold a leadership role.
- Completion of an electronic application using PharmCAS by November 1st of the year prior to beginning the pharmacy program (additional prerequisites may still be in progress).
- Engagement in professional behavior at all times. Any institutional or legal sanction will result in immediate exclusion from the early assurance admission pathway.
Additionally, undergraduate students that intend to major in Pre-Pharmacy and are named an HPU Presidential Scholar will earn select status in our two-year Pre-Pharmacy Track that allows them to earn both preferred early assurance admission and receive continued presidential scholarship funding for the remaining duration of the award following matriculation into the FWSOP Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Additionally, the Presidential Scholars interview with a FWSOP faculty member will serve as their admission interview for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
