Senators are required to attend all SGA meetings.

Bills
Bills allow HPU organizations to request monetary funds.
- Bills are reviewed and voted on during each Senate meeting.
- All bills must be submitted to the Student Government Association via the Bill Submission Link by Wednesday at 5PM the week before the SGA Senate meeting you want them to be voted on.
- Bills submission will end the Wednesday prior to the last senate meeting.
*Once your Bill is approved, don’t forget to submit a Finance Request to ensure your approved vendor/invoice gets paid, items are purchased, or to check out the store card.
Resolutions
Resolutions express the will of the Senate but do not enact action.
Resolutions:
- Propose a solution or stance on an issue.
- Must be submitted by at least two Senators, regardless the organization.
- Are reviewed and voted on at each Senate Meeting
- Are due by Monday at 5 PM the week of the meeting.
Use the Resolution Template to draft and submit your resolution to the submit to SGA when completed.

Bylaws & Constitution
The Student Government Association (SGA) is guided by its governing documents, which outline the structure, responsibilities, and procedures of our organization. These documents include the Constitution, Bylaws, and any supporting policies or codes, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective leadership.

Sanctions can progress from a verbal warning to a written warning to as far as social probation or removal of the organization’s charter.
