![]() | Medical Director, Dr. Leigh Howell - Welcome to High Point University Student Health Services! My name is Leigh Howell, and I am the medical director for HPU Student Health Services. I am a North Carolina native from Wilson, NC. I completed my undergraduate degree in biology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and then medical school at ECU Brody School of Medicine. My husband and I completed our family medicine residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Since finishing my residency training in 2006, I have practiced medicine in the Winston Salem community both in the private practice setting as well as in student health. I joined the Novant Health High Point University Student Health Services team in 2022 and have appreciated partnering with the HPU students to promote health and well-being on campus. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three sons, and two goldendoodles. I also love being outdoors, reading, and cooking. |
