Insect petting zoo at SciQuest 2026
Reaching the Next Generation
The Wanek School of Natural Sciences is committed to inspiring children across High Point and the Piedmont Triad by making science come alive through hands-on activities and memorable experiences. Through initiatives such as the HPU Mobile Community Lab, SciQuest at the Nido and Mariana Qubein Children’s Museum, the inflatable mobile planetarium, and the Culp Planetarium, students, faculty, and staff are passionate about service and community engagement.

Guided by faculty mentors, students design and lead interactive activities that spark curiosity and make scientific concepts accessible to learners of all ages. These experiences not only inspire the next generation of scientists but also help HPU students strengthen their communication, leadership, and civic engagement skills to make a meaningful impact beyond campus.
