Courses at Bangor University are called Modules and are listed in both European Credits (ECTS) and British Credits (CATS). Enrollment for one semester at Bangor University is between 50 and 60 British Credits (equivalent to 25-30 ECTS or 12- 16 HPU credits). Generally speaking, 10 British Credits are equivalent to 3 HPU credits, 15 to 4, and 20 to 5.
Modules can be selected across disciplines, although students should plan around their major as much as possible.
Visit the Bangor University Course Catalog for a list of modules available. Be sure the module is offered during the semester you want to study at Bangor (modules listed as being offered during Semester 1 & 2 are year-long courses, not semester courses offered during either Semester 1 or Semester 2). Note: some courses are taught in Welsh.
For High Point University to recognize the credits you complete abroad, you must earn at least a grade equivalent to a C in the U.S. HPU will not accept credit for courses with grades of C– or below. Grades for all courses earned abroad are recorded on the international transcript. Credits are received by HPU as transfer credits, which means the credit is received but the grade is not. Your HPU grade point average will not be impacted positively or negatively by your study abroad courses.
