First Year/Transfer/Readmit Undergraduate Students
2023-2024 Cost of Attendance
At High Point University we believe that a quality education is one of the most important investments that you can make.
AN EDUCATION WITH VALUE(S)
The university is aware that the cost of a college education is a major outlay for a family and makes every effort to keep its charges as reasonable as possible, consistent with providing a first-class college education. High Point University was recently ranked as one of the best colleges for a return on your investment in North Carolina. Affordable Colleges Online ranks HPU No. 8 overall and No. 4 among private institutions in North Carolina out of 35 colleges across the state. The ranking is based on the cost of tuition, graduates’ average starting salaries and ROI calculation (provided by PayScale).
APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) serves as High Point University’s official application for need-based financial aid. To be considered for federal grants, federal student loans and federal work-study opportunities, you must file the FAFSA electronically by going to https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.
The earliest date that you may file the FAFSA is October 1st each year, and filing early is crucial as some program funds are limited. To ensure that we will receive your information, you must include our FAFSA school code of 002933.
FINANCIAL AID COUNSELOR
Although the financial aid process can be complex, the Office of Student Financial Planning is well trained and highly qualified to make your experience a positive and rewarding one. Students’ financial aid applications are assigned Financial Planning Counselors according to last name, except for athletes – all athletes are advised by one counselor. Once you submit your undergraduate admissions application your Financial Planning Counselor will serve as your main contact.

All HPU students are required to reside on campus until they have reached senior status, unless they commute from their parent’s permanent address. If students live off of campus during their senior year, their residence cannot be within a one mile radius of campus. If you would like more information on the off-campus housing contract please visit www.highpoint.edu/studentlife/off-campus-housing-contract. Living on campus within a student-focused, caring community provides wonderful opportunities for students to get involved in all areas of academic and campus life.
