High Point Scholars demonstrate solid achievement, good citizenship and leadership during high school. High Point Scholars are invited to a special leadership weekend in March where they can increase their merit award.
High Point Scholars are students who may or may not have chosen to send in official SAT or ACT scores under HPU’s new Test Optional policy and who still qualify for a merit scholarship. The SAT and ACT scores below have historically represented students in this category but are no longer required for this scholarship.
All High Point Scholars will be invited to campus for a special weekend in the spring where they will have the opportunity to increase their scholarship by $2,000 per year.

Application Information
- Priority Deadline: November 15
Your undergraduate admissions application serves as your High Point Scholarship application – there is no separate application to be considered. You will be considered for High Point Scholarships whether you included SAT or ACT scores as a part of your application for admission.
If you choose to submit your standardized test scores, High Point University super scores the SAT and ACT. If you have taken multiple versions of either test, the highest sub-scores within each test will be considered in totaling the final score for consideration. Please note, the SAT and ACT test scores cannot be mixed.
