About the President:

Driven by faithful courage, Dr. Qubein continues to lead HPU through an extraordinary transformation.

Dr. Nido R. Qubein became the seventh president of High Point University in January 2005 and has implemented dozens of strategic growth accomplishments.

President Qubein has partnered with faculty and staff to forge new opportunities for HPU. Focusing on experiential education and holistic, values-based learning, graduates are prepared to live a life of both success and significance. He has served as past president of the Big South Conference and leads a course for freshmen titled “The First-Year Seminar on Life Skills with President Qubein and Friends.” In the course, Dr. Qubein shares with students the habits, skills, values, and the practical intelligence that one must apply to succeed in an ever-changing world.

About Stephen:

Dr. Stephen Denny II has enjoyed a 22-year career in organizational leadership. He has served in institutional administration and business consulting, leading transformational development through cultural leadership, recruiting and retaining talented professionals, and empowering them to accelerated levels of performance. Dr. Denny has worked in private education as Director of Athletics, moved to Institutional Advancement, and served as Head of School. His visionary leadership facilitated a growth mindset solidifying fiscal responsibility and fundraising to position institutions for financial stability through strategic partnerships, unique brand marketing, as well as policy and procedural restructuring. He is experienced in developing a team and equipping them to carry out successful operations, closing communication gaps, and offering clarity in best practice to include oversight of academic alignment, enrollment management, change strategies, human resources, professional learning, public relations and communication, and productivity.

 Dr. Denny will continue to work towards providing an extraordinary student educational experience at High Point University and network with educational leaders around the country to increase the impact of HPU. He was born and raised in High Point and attended Wesleyan Christian Academy. He received his B.S. in Business from UNCG, earned his M.S. from HPU (2007), and completed his doctorate work at Southeastern University in Florida. Dr. Denny is married to Rebecca, and they have 3 kids: Isaac (and wife Allie), Micah (18), and Thaddeus (13).
